The Tuna 1 was designed by Kenny Mutton in 2011. It was first showcased at the Adidas Sickline Extreme Kayak World Championship where Sam Sutton used it to take the win by 2.3 seconds. From there, the Tuna has gone on to be the most successful kayak on the extreme racing circuit, winning almost every extreme race it has entered.
The Tuna 2 builds on the success of the Tuna 1. This new design is even stronger, faster, and lighter than its predessor, and has the maneouverability to make you feel like a pro. No other creek boat performs in the same way. This becomes obvious The first time you boof or accelerate off a wave as the Tuna 2 starts to plane, and you fly out of your landing. The Tuna’s unique tail reduces back looping and getting stopped in holes. The release edges allow it to still be manoeuvrable at speed, so a change of direction is no problem. It has plenty of room for gear, making it a great multi-day boat. From technical steep creeks to big water, the Tuna 2.0 will be your boat of choice.
The Tuna best suits paddlers in the range of 65kgs – 90kgs.
The Tuna 2 has been equipped with easy to adjust outfitting. We wanted to have strong, fast adjusting outfitting that caters for everyone, from kayak schools to experts.
The seat is Roto-moulded. It has three screw holes under the hip pads on seat tab that adjust the seat position. Just remove two screws and the seat will slide forward and backwards. The seat is very comfortable, especially over longer periods of time.
The hip pads are a simple pad attached with straps and velcro. Two extra shims are provided for easy adjustment that velcro between the seat and the outer pad.
The back-band is extremely comfortable. It has two ratchets and ladders, making it easy to adjust and tighten. It can be adjusted even more by altering the length of webbing on the back of the back-band. The back-band has been mounted to allow for easy access to any safety equipment or overnight gear stored behind the seat.
The thigh braces are extremely comfortable. They are simple, light weight and most importantly, very effective, giving you perfect control.
The foot-block is fully adjustable, with four thumb-nuts on the inside of the hull. The width is also adjustable, depending on the position of the foot block.
